VarianceCalc is a small, focused tool built to make one job — calculating variance and standard deviation — fast, clear, and trustworthy.
Why we built this
Most online variance calculators either bury the answer behind ads and pop-ups, fail on messy real-world input like spreadsheet columns pasted with stray commas and currency symbols, or hide exactly how the result was computed. We wanted something different: paste your numbers, get an instant answer, and see every step of the math worked out on your own data — sample variance, population variance, standard deviation, mean, count, and sum of squares, all in one place.
How it works
The entire calculator runs client-side in your browser using a small, typed statistics engine. Nothing you paste or type is ever uploaded to a server, logged, or stored — the only time your data touches a URL is if you explicitly click "Copy link" to share a result. There's no account, no installation, and no tracking.
